Rathong (22,000 ft.), Talung, Jonsong and Tent are some of the peaks open for climbing, all above 24,000 ft.

The best time to climb North Eastern Indian peaks is May to October. For expedition one has to book the peak well in advance along with a fee.  The Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) is the country’s apex body to organize these expeditions. It also works as a clearing house for the foreign nationals and accompany them by providing a liaison officer who look after all security matters and in case of any accident he helps to get rescue support from the Indian Air Force.
